The Department of Health Management, within the Faculty of Health Sciences of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, which has a deep-rooted experience, started its education activities by meeting with its first students in the 2020-2021 term with its academic and administrative staff with extensive experience and knowledge in the health sector and academic field.

The Faculty of Health Sciences and the Health Management Department within its body await our local and foreign students in Akyazı District, which has an important potential in terms of tourism and especially health tourism with its green and water-rich forests, touristic facilities.

Changes affecting the field of health, such as the increase in service provision opportunities in recent years, the prolongation of life expectancy at birth, the widespread understanding of total quality, technological developments in every field and differentiation in communication styles; has positioned health management as an important branch of management science. When evaluated in terms of health institutions, it is necessary to follow the developments in the field of business as well as in the field of medicine in order to adapt to these changes. Health management does not only focus on the management of health institutions at a micro level; It approaches the subject at the macro level, including health services, health policies and systems. In this context, the need for professional health managers in our country is increasing day by day, however, it is getting harder to find trained human resources and therefore the demand for departments that train health managers is increasing.

In addition to the different courses included in the curriculum, our Health Management Department aims to train qualified human resources for the public and private sector and contribute to the development of the health sector with workplace training covering a period of 7+1 education program. With the conferences and symposiums organized, it is ensured that the students of the department benefit from the knowledge and experience of both academics working in different universities and health professionals. It is also aimed that students gain experience in scientific research by supporting their participation in academic studies. In addition, in our First Aid Training Center within the Faculty of Health Sciences of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, our students are provided with free First Aid training and their career development is supported by providing them with a "First Aid Certificate" approved by the Provincial Health Directorate.

Department of Health Management, specific to the field of Health; It includes comprehensive training programs on the organization and management of services covering many areas of expertise such as health insurance, health economics, health law, quality in health services, marketing in health services, strategic management in health, communication in health, human resources management in health services.
